About CleanAi

CleanAi is an independent iOS app that polishes and cleans your own photos and videos before you share them. It runs entirely on your iPhone — there is no cloud step, no account, and no server that ever sees your media.

Who builds it

CleanAi is designed and developed by yan-dev, an independent developer. It's a small, self-funded project — not a venture-backed company — and it's maintained directly by the person who writes the code. If you have a question, a bug, or a feature idea, it reaches him: support@cleanaiapp.com.

Why it exists

Creators who use AI tools in their workflow keep running into the same friction: platforms automatically attach an AI disclosure to their posts — TikTok's "AI Generated" tag, Instagram's "Made with AI" label. It's applied from provenance data written into the file by the generating tool, so it fires regardless of how much human direction, editing and taste went into the work. CleanAi exists to give you control over the metadata attached to your own media before you publish it.

How it works

CleanAi re-encodes your file natively through Apple's CoreImage (photos) and AVFoundation (video) pipelines — the same frameworks the system camera and Photos use. A genuine re-encode rebuilds the file from scratch, so embedded C2PA content credentials and leftover metadata aren't carried into the new copy. Because the export uses native iOS presets, resolution and bitrate are preserved — the cleaned file is pixel-for-pixel the same quality as the source.

What it doesn't do

We'd rather be exact than oversell:

  • It only works on media you own or have the right to modify. CleanAi never touches anyone else's content.
  • It doesn't connect to, automate, or interact with TikTok, Instagram or any other platform. CleanAi is not affiliated with them.
  • It clears the metadata and content credentials that platforms read. It does not claim to remove robust pixel-level watermarks such as Google's SynthID.
  • It doesn't collect your photos or videos. Nothing is uploaded, and the website sets no cookies.
