How to Post Midjourney Images to Instagram Without the AI Label

You spend ages dialing in the prompt, upscale the render you love, post it to Instagram, and it lands with a “Made with AI” label and an “AI info” panel attached. For a Midjourney artist, that tag can flatten hours of creative direction into a single dismissive badge. Here’s the full workflow to post your own Midjourney work on iPhone without it.

Why Midjourney images get the “Made with AI” label

It’s not Instagram looking at your image and guessing. Midjourney, like most generators, writes C2PA Content Credentials into the file on export: a signed, invisible “made with AI” record. So the label rides in the file’s metadata, not its pixels. That’s the key to removing it: you have to change the file, not the framing.

The workflow at a glance

The only step that matters technically is the re-encode: rebuilding the file natively so the C2PA credential and metadata don’t carry over. Everything else is just moving the image around.

Step by step

1. Export your render at full resolution. In Midjourney, open the upscaled image and download the original, and don’t screenshot it (you’d lose quality and gain nothing).
2. Get it onto your iPhone. AirDrop it from your Mac, or if you generated on your phone’s browser, save it straight to Photos. Either way it ends up in your camera roll.
3. Open CleanAi and pick the image. Nothing is uploaded. The file stays on your device.
4. Crop if you want (optional). Tighten the composition or trim a border. A crop also removes any visible corner mark.

Does Midjourney add a visible watermark to my renders?
